180 days if you're staying off site, or 180 + length of your stay if staying on site.
If you can't get reservations, you can always try to walk in and get a seat at the sushi bar or the regular bar. I have never had a time where they have turned us away but get a reservation. Either way make it happen because it's worth it. Time it a little before sunset! !!
Six months or 180 days
I made mine like 60 days out but didn't like the time so I checked back on the Disney app every day and got it changed like a week before. People cancel.
Like many others have stated 180 days before your reservation date is the furthest you can book. I would recommend booking as soon as you can. This one is very popular and fills up fast especially since you can watch the fireworks from the restaurant. Just be aware that the current penalty for not showing up for your reservation is $10 per person in the reservation as of 6/21/2018. If that changes from today it will be reflected when you make your reservation. I recommend double checking before you commit.
6 montys in advance if you staying at a Disney Resort.
All you can really do is call Disney dining and see what they have for you.
If you have a small party..then you can just go to the bar area
Disney restaurants book up quickly, so make your plans well in advance. 180 days seems nuts but if you wait, you'll be out of luck. Also, most restaurants have a no show penalty if you make a reservation then just not show up. So, again, plan ahead.
180 days of on property.
