Yes u can do either . I let my dog have a bit of "leash free" time when we first get there, the the rest of the time I put him in a leash so I can sit and relax and read a book 😁
If you feel better keeping your pet leashed, that's fine. But please don't let them interact with other off-leash pups (walking around, etc). I'm always nervous that the pups will get caught in the leash & break a leg, or even worse... one of them gets caught & goes into aggressive panic mode. I just think it's a dangerous situation. It makes me nervous. Keep in mind, you can take your leashed dog practically anywhere, but there are very few off-leash opportunities to allow our social dogs to play freely. We know our dogs. If your don't think your dog will do well with others, perhaps there's a better option than limiting him/her in an off-leash setting.
