Has anyone been able to get a hold of an EDD worker? If so can you please share exactly how? I have emailed them questions many times and tried calling at different times but haven’t reached anyone. I’ve also drove by the office and it’s closed

I have been waiting for 4 1/2 months to get paid. Every reason possible to drag out paying me has happened. Fortunately due to a lot of churches, people advocate fund raisers, friends and family ( and understanding creditors) I have managed to eat, have my home, pge is still on, and gas in the car. Though I’m upset, I know that the people trying to keep the Benefits and claims going forward are incredibly exhaustingly overwhelmed. And you can’t hire new people and expect perfect claims. I’m going to try to calm myself and think, perhaps my claim is slow in going, but perhaps a family with 5 children/out of work parents and bills stacking up, will be able to eat and enjoy a little personal family time. So while still upset I’m going to keep telling myself that a family with 5 kids is ok through this crisis, because of me. Try the 833 number at Exactly 7:59 am your wait time will be about 20-30 min but you’ll talk to a really nice guy that actually goes and finds your claim file.

Bc of all the fraud a lot of honest working people are being held up and they did nothing wrong. And so thank the f_$#$_-! Fraud criminals for your delay.

Have you been able to reach anyone yet? I applied 06/07/2020, and can now see award information, claim balance and info on payments issued but haven't received an EDD benefits card in the mail or anything... Hard to know where I'm at with things. UPDATE! UPDATE! Finally spoke to someone before the weekend began, got through with the self service number somehow using my unemployment ID #, and then got paid out same day somehow (received my EDD debit card in the mail same Friday), and the payment info I saw online was accurate because that number equalled to what was on the card too. (Online it said my payment was issued 06/21/2020, and I got the card that following Friday), So maybe finally getting through was pointless. If you haven't received any other things in the mail other then your award notice and the amounts and you can view your payment info and or claim balance right now the you'll be getting something soon and you're probably just waiting on the EDD debit card

Is this office open?

@ ashley rowe. what time did you call when you were finally able to get through to a representative? I reopened an already existing claim after it closed my current one for “not certifying my weeks” when I had been up to date already. After reopening the claim, it said to wait 7-10 business days but I still have not heard anything back. My portal also shows as if I never reopened the claim but I have my confirmation information from reopening
