Yes. Quite a number of people were fishing for Tilapia when we were there recently.
Yes, I saw tilapia there last week
7 of us visited a month and a half ago. Stayed there the whole day just to catch a fish. No fish at all! Not even a bite on our bait!
It is it's own ecosystem and very unique. But I would not go near the water.

Right now, the Salton Sea is off limits to any water activities or fishing. It is polluted and in the process of clean up. I was not sure if we could walk on the beach since there were a lot of dead fish n crustaceans. It eas beautiful from a far though.
This is stagnant water... unsure of fish there.
I'd read where the water came from before I ate fish out of there....
