Quiet cool also makes attic gable vent fans. They have one that responds not only to heat but to humidity within the Attic.
The quiet cool Whole House Fan just vents into your attic space. You will need to have enough vents out of the attic to accommodate. I personally recommend that you install an attic gable vent with a thermostat to help move the air.
A quick edit to answer Charlie directly. The gable vent fan exhausts hot out of the attic and to the outside via a gable vent or other door ttic space openings. The whole house fan has an "intake" vent opening in the desired room that connects to a quietcool fan and it vents the air from the room opening into the attic. From there, the fan essentially pressurized the attic and sends the hot air out the gable vents or other attic openings to the outside. I did exactly as Tammy advised. I used the Quietcool gable vent fan (the multi speed unit) and a Quietcool whole house fan. That combination works incredibly well. With that combination, we only used our air conditioning unit two or three times during this past summer. The QC whole fan is the best purchase we've made.
