Your doctor plays a huge part in getting a sticker .You are paying him money not just to feed his family..Sometimes more is needed from him or her..They have contacts and they know the ins and outs of the whole process of getting it done..Get your doctor involved..
Go to the DMV website and download the proper form for a Handicap placard. Fill in your part of the form. Take the form with you to your Doctor, doesn't have to be an Ortho, can be an MD or DO and have them fill in their info which won't take but 2 minutes. Usually one of the girls in the office will fill in the info and use the doc's signature stamp to sign it. It is as easy as that. A little hint, if you have 2 cars and want one for each vehicle check the box on the form that says you travel extensively. Just don't ever get letting someone else use a placard registered to you---it ain't fun!
I agree with #274. Find a doctor that actually cares and that follows through. I also would say do your own research as well to find out what has to be done to qualify you for the sticker so you won't be denied again. Good luck Lori!
