I believe John reads from ESV mostly. Johns a major author and world renown pastor and doesnt like the glamor and attention. However he loves his flock and enjoys meeting with them. But it seems everyone and the Calvary wants to meet him. I believe at his older age it can be overwhelming at times. However I'd say yes if your desiring a fellowship and not a picture then yes he would.
They use a hymnal of their own publication called Hymns of Grace that uses just the hymns that are considered educational and theologically sound. You'll hear more contemporary and popular songs in the fellowship groups which are mainly sorted by age & interest. Some new, some old. NASB is the preferred Bible but we don't quibble. In days passed, he would stand for a meet & greet line after the 2nd service (I only attend 2nd) but I don't see that being done anymore. Best way is to attend a special function relating to the seminary or related to a particular fellowship group. Those are more intimate settings where casual conversation is likely. Sunday mornings are a bit more security oriented since that day in August 2015 when he got confronted on stage by a Scotsman re:hardline cesessionism. Now they have a velvet rope around the approach to the platform. (Next guy who wants to shout disapproval has to stay behind the rope!)
