It depends on where you are coming from. I'm assuming Market Street and you'll want to come up via Powell Street entering at the trolley turnaround. You can get a look at one of SF's popular shopping areas as you walk up those two (or so) blocks to Union Square. You will notice that the square is smack dab in the middle of the financial district and you have your choice of which direction you want to go for more shopping pleasure. Hint: if you are facing Macy's then in each of the four directions you will have your essentials (east) shopping, (south) eating, (west) overnight accommodations and (north) scenic views. Oh from Union Square Macy's is to the south. Good Luck and have fun, if you haven't already come and gone.
It depends where you are :-) Uber or cab are good options. Take one till pick up point at Williams Sonoma/ Apple store - next to central park - bang opposite the Westin. You can also take MuNi or Bart to street near Powell street - it's on 9th Street opposite Westgate mall - Bart station near Old Navy store. Or take the Powell st. Cable car - the best way and most cultural. Enjoy
You can use POWELL cable car. Or hire uber. Can use muni bus as well
If u see a macys, sak fifth avenue, and tiffanys jeweler...ur there...there some construction going on too. Theyre just giving the place a face lift i think. Also it depends which direction you're coming from as well.
