Considering covid, will they space people at the hibachi tables? I would have a party of 6 so not sure if that's enough to get our "own" table.

The restrictions have been lifted so you will be seated with other people. HOWEVER, 6 people should be enough for your own table.

They were not spacing anyone when we were there twice in June.

You can always ask but when I went there were two parties and they were at separate tables.

So far Kyoto don’t space everybody starting this month but you can still ask for your own table with party of 6 when you make reservation.
