Yes, just across the street. Great location by the pier too
The beach is very close. The water area immediately in front is dedicated for surfing. If you go swimming in that area they will ask you to move. You're allowed to wade a little and kids can play but regular swimmimg you'll need to move further down. The water is pretty cold. I just went there this weekend.

Yes you can walk to the beach. There is swimming, surfing, and volleyball. Also, there is a large grassy area across the street and a nice place to eat and drink right next door--see Wonderland. Also, there is a dog beach about a 3/4 mile walk away where the dogs can run off leash.
Yes, there are also a lot of surfers in the area.

Yes you can. Its right on the beach. You cross the street your on the beach. Yes you can swim there, surf. Or just soak up the sun. Its a great hotel
