The hotel is affordable and close-ish to some good locations in San Diego. The hotel was not a nice place to stay. The furniture was all damaged, the carpet was not clean. The bed sheets were clean but not comfortable. The view out my window was a (loud) train track and a street where people walked by at eye level, and a couple of people relieved themselves behind the hotel. I was looking forward to the pool, it was fine but there was a toupee floating and a lot of dirt and junk floating in it for the duration of my stay. Finally, the wifi password did not work and when I asked the front desk for help with the password they gave me the wrong password again multiple times - it was clear they didn't actually know the password. The google maps listing says they have hot breakfast, and fridges + coffeemakers in the rooms - they definitely don't have any of these things. Other reviews mention bugs but I didn't encounter any during my stay. I would avoid staying here unless you know what you're getting into, and feel fine with that.

It has a clean outside appearance and is conveniently located. I like the motel setup because traveling on a motorcycle I like to keep the bike close to my room, so it works for me. However, the interior room is lacking. There is dirt and grim in the corners, the carpet has ugly stains along with the shower curtain, The fake chrome faucets are peeling and I've seen a 6 legged bug every day in the bathtub and once on the bathroom floor. I don't want to assume I know what it is, but pictures tell a 1000 words. My concern to the attendant was expressed, ann was told an exterminator comes every other week and people carry things from other places. I disagreed and said this was probably coming from the drain and who knows where else. I was told I could just check out if I didn't like it. The bed was okay, no bugs, but it was a semi uncomfortable box spring and spring mattress. The furniture was scarred and chipped, but the AC worked great.

When we booked we called to arrange early check in. We were assured this would not be a problem and that there was a $25 fee which we expected. When we get there the girl at the counter was rude and not willing to accommodate. She told us she didn't know who promised us that but they shouldn't have. Didn't take our name or anything, just told us we will need to come back later. Mind you the hotel had already pulled the $300 from our account at 6am that morning. We finally get checked and when we walked into the room a very strong odor of mold and mildew punched us in the face. The carpet was dingy and stinky. Beds are super uncomfortable. The bathroom was disgusting. Floor tile needs re-grouted and the bathtub needs replaced. Rooms are cleaner at Motel 6. When we got back from our event and looked at the receipt we discovered the office had double charged our account. Taking $625 total. The total of the room for one night was $325 including early check in fee. When we went to the office to have them correct the charges the girl said that shouldn't have happened the charges should clear in 7-10 business days. This accidental charge and an extra $300 of theirs overdrew our account. I have never encountered such poor customer service at a hotel. The lack of willingness to help and the short rude responses are very disappointing. I will never stay at this location ever again nor will I recommend it anyone.

I'm from Florida and it reminds me of the cute old school motels on the beach back home. It's nice. Terrific location. Friendly staff. Fair price. Only minor complaint, they could use better mattresses, they're alright, but could be better.
