I would agree with DRUMSOLO 130, we stayed in Studio City, but it was a 35 min drive, $30 a night to park and then $25(?) to park at Universal. The hotels near Universal may be kinder with Parking fees.

If you plan to stay close to Universal City, plan your trip early to get cheaper deals on hotels.
