E-ticket works. We went with e-ticket on phone last week.

You can buy your tickets from a mobile device. Universal recommends that you print your tickets, but you can also show them on your mobile device screen at the park entrance
Your phone will work. Since the flu season is really bad this year I would rather not let strangers handle my phone because my daughter uses it in the car. Thus I print when possible.
You can use your e ticket just make sure they can read it and scan it from the device.
