I have camped here many times and love the tranquility. I'm wondering if anyone knows the original location of the hot springs. I understand it is in the mountain behind the ranger quarters. Can someone confirm for me? Thank you

It's about 100-150 feet up the hill from the current pool. There are pipes from the hot spring running into a large tank that feeds the pool.

Yes, I believe it is behind the ranger station.

Was pretty sure that was the location. Guess I'll just need to hike there, thanks!

The one I remember from the 70s it was nothwest of the playground. Had an old hippie rock hot tub of sorts.

The source can be seen above the showers and holding tank. The friction along the fault lines heats the groundwater and steams it to the surface. Miracle of nature.
