Hello, Agua Caliente is closed from Memorial Day to Labor Day. This gives the wildlife a break...and it's just too hot in the Summer!
Agua Caliente, a county park, is indeed closed for our nominal hot season, as CJ Hardman points out. The Anza Borrego Desert State Park has many free and one paid campground along highway S2. Bow Willow ($15) and Mtn Palm Springs are very near Agua Caliente. Higher elevation is Blair Valley Primitive Camp, not far from Shelter Valley. And the park allows you to camp almost anywhere at that. Private campgrounds: Stagecoach Trails campground in Shelter Valley and Butterfield Ranch in Mason Valley both have swimming. All of these camping sites are nice for different reasons. Bring a minimum of 1 gallon h2o per person per day (more is better) and tell someone when you plan to be back.

It's not. They are closed June July August I believe. Gets to hot there during the summer. Should contact them to confirm.
