They offer a shuttle but if the weather is right it is a nice walk.

Yrs, its only a mile from down town. They also have a shuttle, never had to wait more than 15 minutes for the shuttle.
You can easily walk. However, they have a free shuttle that will take you anywhere within a few miles. That includes a stop downtown by the Orchid. The drivers are great and will give recommendations on places to go.
Yes, it's only a hair over a mile. I walked downtown (and back) every morning. You have good sidewalk the whole way and it's literally downhill the entire walk downtown (which obviously makes it uphill all the way back).
