Good Morning, I have an appointment at the German Consulate in Los Angeles on Monday to renew my German Passport,it expires in February. I am traveling in March to Germany. I have a copy of my Birth Certificate (Certified) with me,will that be ok?

I doubt that is all you need to provide. Check the consulate's website for a list of things you need. Also bring originals plus copies! However, you should contact the Consulate to find all the information necessary. Try their website and check the list they give! If you still have questions, call them. Their phone line appears to not always connect but keep calling. You should get through at some point - I did. A good time in my experience is around 2:30/3:00pm (but check the days they are open). They are very helpful!

I'm pretty sure you need more documents than just your birth certificate and passport. I recommend calling the consulate to get your questions answered. Be persistent in calling them. The line seems to have trouble connecting sometimes. The website also holds a list of the documents required to apply for a new passport. And have copies of everything. That's really important. Hope this helps!
