You need valid state ID, and you must demonstrate you know how to handle as well as load and unload a pistol, and check whether it is loaded. If you can't do that bring someone who can to supervise you. They do rent pistols as well as sell them. There is a ten day waiting period in California to pick up a firearm after purchase.
All shooters MUST read, fill out, and submit a Rules and Release of Liability form.•Shooters under the age of 21 may shoot when accompanied by another experienced shooter that is over 21 with their own firearms. Shooters under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, and submit a Parental Release of Liability.•Foreign passports are not accepted as valid identification.
There are a couple rules to be able to shoot there: first you need to be tall enough to shoot over the table in the stalls without resting on them, second if you don't bring your own gun and/or want to rent a firearm you must shoot with a partner. If you come alone to shoot bring your pistol from home, you won't be able to rent alone.
Absolutely!
Ok thanks everyone
If you are new to shooting, it is highly recommended that you take a class first and practice at home -- with dummy rounds of course -- until you internalize the rules of safety [all guns are loaded, pointing at safe direction, finger off the trigger until on target, knowing your target and beyond], before going to the range on your own. Reed's offers classes -- some including supervised range time. I've taken one from Rick who works there; it was excellent.
