Any age
Any age, lots of walk though. Enjoy!
There are two main tours. The standard one is 65 minutes, and is open to all ages, and I think appropriate for all ages. There are no special effects or people jumping out. If ghosts are mentioned, it's only in passing. They show the trailer for the new Winchester movie, and that certainly seemed like something that would be scary for kids. My 3 and 5 year old weren't paying attention, fortunately. There is a second tour fairly recently added, the Explore More tour, which is 2 hours long and only for ages 10 and up. There is also, as mentioned, the Friday the 13th flashlight tours, which have an age requirement. It's on the website.
I've been taking my son & daughter since they were 5. My mom started taking me about the same age. It's a lot of walking. Most of the stairs are easy-risers which kids seem to like. There are a couple of regular staircases. You also can't touch anything except for staircase railing and be able to stay behind any barrier ropes. The Friday the 13th & flashlight tours I would save for older kids. It's not too frightening, but they do have "ghosts" lurking about.
There are no minimum age requirements. There are a lot of stairs and steps, so just be aware of that (40 staircases.)
All ages can go, but there are a few mentions of ghosts on the tour. Nothing overly frightening, but use your best judgement
