It was never meant to be completed. She continued building it until the day she died. She was a troubled woman, not hard to imagine why after everything she went through.

Well she kept on having it built until she died. Construction stopped after she passed. Also she didnt seem to have any specific finished design.
Because Sarah Winchester died before it was completed.
