Might be a little too soon to take a 1yr old but I do take a 19 month old and a 4 year old and they both love it
The place is perfect for hands on exploration and learning so it would seem too young for a year old. But it should be awe-inspiring for even a year old ... like to see a large whale and the dna structure.

It's a little bit early for an 1yr old to visit, since there is no much playable stuff for the ago. But, anyway you can bring he/she here for a great bay view.
