It's not open to the public generally. However, there are tours on Cal Day and Darwin's birthday. It's a really great place to take kids when it's open.

We found a June bug in our garden. What do they eat? We live in Fair Oaks (near Sacramento). Is it a harmful beetle?

Can you take a picture? There a many species known as June bugs, they all are plant eaters, but it could be that you have an invasive species like the Japanese beetle. With a pic the species might be identifiable... nearly all are completely harmless
