I don't think 1 year olds are old enough to understand much of what is going on. 2+ or 3+ is better
Most of the displays, and interactive sections are great for kids but they need to be school age to enjoy them and take part in them. While there are plenty of walk-around space the a walking 1 year old can enjoy it would be best if they were there with an older sibling.
