Hi Gloria Thomas. You may be eligible to take paid California Sick Leave (maximum of 24 hours per calendar year). Log into www.ufcwtrust.com any time and go to the Benefits tab, My Claims, then Summary tab to see your available California Sick Leave balance, or call the Trust Fund Office at (800) 552-2400, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for assistance or to file California Sick Leave. Separately, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides that if you work for an employer covered by FMLA, you are entitled to unpaid leave for specified family or medical purposes, such as the birth or adoption of a child, to provide care for a Spouse, child or parent who is seriously ill, or for your own illness. To find out more about Family or Medical Leave and the terms on which you may be entitled to it, contact your Employer.
