There was one woman who made the effort to reach out and help me, i should have asked for her name, but thank you again for helping. I wasn't taught about anything insurance-wise in the past so it was nice to have someone willing to help step by step.

I always have the worst time dealing with the trust fund on the phone no matter what it's for. Most the time it's best just to go to the office on an off day, not how I like to spend my time off. I've worked in this industry thirty years paying into these funds and when you get sick and need the help it's like your asking them for their money. Don't these people realize that they have a job because of us. I just found out that even though the company pays our 24 hours state sick leave our banked trust fund hours get used for it. So basically the state sick leave doesn't apply to us. I was off work with appendices for 18 days and was thinking I would get paid 24 hours state , and 40 hours from my trust fund banked hours but only got paid for 16 hours and the trust fund rep. wanted to argue and tell me I could get state disability. You know how much trouble and how long it takes to get that done. This is B S.

You can go to the trust fund and get it. Also while you are there you can ask the lady there you want to talk to someone in the pension department and you don't need an appointment and get your paperwork and ask questions and but I would call the trust fund and talk to the pension department on what you need to fill out the paperwork. That way you can just fill the paperwork right there and ask ALL the questions you need Too. Then you are going to have to talk to the retirement department because they handle the health insurance, eye, and dental ALL Separate from the Pension department!!!

If you are eligible for Sick Leave and also are entitled to State Disability or Workers’ Compensation Benefits, you will receive Sick Leave Benefits, which, together with applicable State Disability or Workers’ Compensation, will equal a full day’s wages computed at your straight time rate.

This is an annual requirement.
