appointment would be nice. But most of the time they dont answer . Best bet is to go very early. And beat the long lines that have you wait outside.
Make an appointment. I renewed my license recently. There was a line out the door. I was called to the window in less than 5 minutes.
Print your confirmation paper, show up and show it to the person at the door. They will show you where to stand in line. The line was significantly smaller than the others when I went. It took me less than an hour to get mine.
