really glad this place is on top of being eco friendly! thanks for: - what I like the most: 100% transparency - the good, bad, and in between! - caring - having events - telling people to stop using so much water - offer ways to not use water - educating the public - giving school tours - the poster contest - treating the water - trying not to cost the city too much money - not relying on the colorado river - answering my questions really well when I ask - advocating for the city itself to cut its water use during droughts by removing lawns - way to go the extra mile! - allows you to collect rainwater - and tells you how - solar water heaters - super nice and on top of it for maintenance - history stories on Nextdoor - was on 2nd life Now for the negatives - getting water from northern california - the water can be really chemically and dirty (I use a water filter, but it can still give me rashes if I'm not careful). Bad for the skin, drying (and it's water!). Sometimes I feel like I'm dying when I drink it. I wish they use fewer chemicals, but then the water wouldn't be clean - we can't win. - no explanation on how to avoid the worst consequences from happening - don't trust this water source in a disaster - too much water pressure or not enough - some faucets get no water - don't offer rain barrels - I wish they did! - they didn't let me collect my poster contest poster when I was there and then destroyed it after 10 years. - the website's tricky to navigate to the info I'd like to see - and info might not be there. - hard to say over the internet, but I shower once a year if that, because I'm too scared to use the water after there were complaints by my family over the water bill being too expensive, as well as droughts - which might or might not be the water district's fault - so I can't blame them - the water district follows orders from the state gov't, regardless of whether or not they make sense - even though they try hard with complaints, they try to avoid people complaining to begin with by downplaying anything they do wrong (but that's everyone - can I really complain about that?)

Lucio is is great and installed the Olympus System in our new home. The Alkaline water is so good and soft water system feels nice on the skin. The soft water also cleared out the eczema I had on my right under arm. Definitely recommend.

9/18:18 10am approx. Just moments ago I spoke to a representative named allie (the lower case is purposeful.) My water was mysteriously not functioning. The person mentioned above was rude, speaking down to me as if I were interfereing with her oh-so-important job with my foolish inquiry. Turns out the water company itself was performing a task which interfered with service, unbeknownst to me. I can only hope that ally 's superiors listen to the recorded call & find that a fool that tells a customer to check the (apparatus) attached to a water bib (of which I have many, as do most customers) will have questions as to which bib, as well as what precisely I am looking for, since her enounciation was inaudible at best & promptly move her into a more suitable position, perhaps latrine duty, providing she is at all capable. There is more regarding her discourteous handling of my legitimate query, however I DO have an important position which I must now tend to. But of course, I must add a closing point which is she hung up without so much as a hint that she was now dismissing me. I will take to task & join anyone else that would like to see change in that obviously inefficient HR department mismatch.

How do they read the meter?

Frank morrison | May 23, 2022
Bill Jaeger | May 23, 2022

In 2019 Rancho Cucamonga water completed installation of remote readability of the meters. 2019 update: Meter Reading Technology Upgrade - The District completed the Automated Meter Reading Infrastructure (AMI) project. The District receives hourly meter reads reaching approximately 95% of the District’s meters. With the power of this data in hand, the District created the Water Watch Program (WWP). The WWP identifies continuous water flow (e.g. customer leaks) and proactively communicates with our customers to save our customer money and conserve this precious resource.

Can we get reduced bill when filling a above ground pool

Ludolph Bos | Aug 22, 2019
Ken Cole | Aug 22, 2019

You only pay for what you use, filling up an above ground pool won't be that much. I think to fill a 14000 gallon in ground pool, it was around $50

For the last 3 days my toilets have been bubbling and this morning water is coming up through the shower drains. I had my main rootered about 2 months ago so I don't believe I should be experiencing this problem. Is any one else having this problem?

Maria Rivera | Aug 22, 2019
Sher Marshall | Aug 22, 2019

I'm not having any problems like tht. Have you called the water company to see if someone can come out and check the lines?

How much does it cost to install a water meter at the water main?

Stephen Lee | Aug 22, 2019
Ken Cole | Aug 22, 2019

The water district is usually responsible for the meter, unless you are requesting an upgrade to a larger meter. Also business is different then residential, not sure which you are talking about.
