Hello Eleanor, There are several deterrents that can be used. You can find more information on the Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley's website, http://wcsv.org/education/species/raccoons/#Coexist. SVACA does NOT trap or relocate wildlife.
Report to your animal control, They will use a LIVE TRAP & Relocate to a Animal Sanctuary,. They did this for me! The Raccoon was released in the Sunnyvale Baylands!!!!
