I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I don't know if they provide this, I would suggest you call them to find out and I'm sure if they don't they can guide you to some resources to help you and your pet.
Call Riverside county. They have a shelter that does this service at no cost. They allow you to be present or not and allow you to take your friend home
