Why does the smell from the Seneca get so ,much worse at night? And what are you doing to prevent harmful fumes from going into the environment?

Hi Barbara, Good to hear from you again. If we remember correctly, you live a few miles to our east. We don’t know what you are smelling at night, but we would be curious about the facilities that are closer to your home and do something different at night than they do during the day. Lane Regional Air Protection Agency (LRAPA) has monitors all over Lane County, and they enact some of the strictest air quality regulations in the nation. If something is in the air at night they will pick it up on their monitors. You may want to get in touch with them to ask them about it. As for Seneca Sustainable Energy, we have the cleanest running biomass facility in America, and there is no smell associated with our facility. We can stand right beside it or in it, and there is no smell. We wish you luck in tracking down the source of that smell.
