What can I say about Ben and his team? Well I can say that he made my purchase of a home in Eugene, while I was traversing and back and forth, on the phone, on zoom calls, etc. a complete dream to work with. I mean, what's harder than purchasing a home when you're in another state? Well Ben was on it, getting in offers when I needed to, arranging showings at weird times on the weekend when I could drive up and being my strategic partner to get the home I wanted. And when it came time to working through the process of closing on the home he was right there with me leading the way. I can honestly say that he's not just my realtor but I consider him a friend. Trust me, I'm no easy customer, but Ben earned my respect and business. Highly recommend him and the team!

Our real estate transaction was a unique situation but handled with such care, attention to detail and professionalism, it was like staying at the Four Seasons or The Ritz Carlton while John Davis and Mark Harvey handled the sale. Six weeks of pure bliss! Thank you both for a wonderful experience. Stay well...

Ben recently helped my wife and I navigate both the sale of our current house, and purchase of our new home during a time when the market in Eugene was extremely competitive! He has incredible knowledge of Eugene and the unique Real Estate market in the Valley specifically. We had a very enjoyable experience and would highly recommend Ben and the team at IN Eugene Real Estate to anyone looking to buy or sell in Eugene.

Questions & Answers

Which area in Eugene is more affordable yet not too far from schools and restaurants.

In Eugene there are handfuls of neighborhoods that fit the bill. South of the Willamette River, areas in south Eugene such as the Amazon, Crest Drive and Friendly neighborhoods all have pockets that are some of the most affordable to be found. North of the river one finds corners of the Ferry St. Bridge, Hayden Bridge, Harlow and Cal Young neighborhoods to have affordable zones as well. All these have worthy schools and proximity to shopping and restaurants. It's common for a buyer to negotiate the three-way balance between price, quality and locations that dictate amenities such as retails opportunities and schools.

Which area in Eugene, Oregon has more upscale vibe but not too far from the Downtown?

Eugene's a terrific place with a lot of specific pockets within most neighborhoods, each one offering something more aligned with various tastes. Many neighborhoods have a mix of more affordable housing and higher price-per-foot areas as well. The University of Oregon (UO), College Hill, the South Hills and parts of Ferry St. Bridge neighborhood all have large pockets featuring the more "upscale" feel. To some this might mean a sprinkling of newer, modern homes, and to others it might mean larger classic homes that have been extremely well cared-for over the years. The UO is probably the #1 concentrated neighborhood that has a large handful of blocks of expensive, luxurious housing while still being very close to downtown. The rectangle between Patterson and Agate Streets west to east, and 18th to 24th north to south (especially Potter and University Streets), has/have very fine housing and high prices per foot, while still being a walk to the university and/or downtown Eugene.

Which area in Eugene is more convenient to the best high school?

The concept of the "best" school is certainly up for deliberation. It's true that over the decades three of the top, most talked about high-schools have been South Eugene, Sheldon and Churchill, maybe in that order. But in today's world, what characteristics are going to be more correlated with a child's success and happiness? Is it purely test scores? Does it have to do with keeping the child closer to where their friends go? For some children is it a lower school population, or might it be a more intense program for those interested in higher academic achievement. Being a Eugene parent and having discussed this topic with school counselors of multiple high-schools, I think it's fair to say that the topic is subjective enough to have varied answers. That said, I'm certain that the high-schools mentioned above are very well thought-of by the vast majority of parents with children attending.

Which area in Eugene, Oregon is the best community to raise a young family?

Beyond a shadow of a doubt the wonderful variety of Eugene neighborhoods each offers their own flavor of opportunities to keep a family happy. Some appreciate living closer to downtown with a walk to the downtown Library and a bike to most places central. Others prefer the distance offered by living in the south hills, with tall trees and winding streets. Some prefer the flatlands, the parks (though every neighborhood has a share of these), and an emphasis on more conveniences. Eugene has many bike paths and designated bike-streets, as well as new protected bike lanes and more to come. Kids adore being taken on a bike ride, and much of Eugene can offer great access to parks, restaurants and retail a short walk or bike-ride away.

Something I tell people who ask about the future of Eugene real estate. Every day more and more Californians come north, often with cash, to make a better home for themselves. The common reasons why are "fires and traffic." Gaze around the country and tell me where one finds peace, good water, a lack of natural disasters, good opportunity for the outdoors and plenty of culture and good food? There aren't too many locations fitting that description. Eugene has the coast one hour away and the snowy mountains an hour in the other direction. We have the University of Oregon, and pressure from California driving up our prices, nothing that will end anytime soon. To me and many others, Eugene means safety and lifestyle. I was born here and have seen the changes. Eugene is a great bet. Give a call (541) 514-4567, or visit our offices at 100 E Broadway, Eugene, OR.
