Never take your boat here. I took my boat in for a tune up, it was running rough. The quote was for $200. They changed spark plugs and a thermostat, and charged $400. Said the boat ran great. I took it home and it was running the exact same as before I took it in. I took it back the next day and they started it up and said they would diagnose it again. I explained I was thinking of selling the boat. The owner quickly offered me $5500. I declined. I left, and an hour later they called and told me the water pump was shot. I told him I was coming to get the boat, and not to do another thing to it. Then he said, “the motor is pretty much worn out.” Weird, because an hour before, he offered to buy it. And the day before, after the $400 tune up, they said everything was great. I have two other fishing boats and I’ve been fishing for 30 years. This is by far the worst service I’ve ever had. This place is the worst, never take your boat here.

Customer service is very kind and friendly. Technicians in my opinion have been found to be some of the best in southern Oregon. Any maintenance or repairs I have had done were completed before the estimated time periods given. As a retired fishing guide and as an outdoor sportsman enthusiast, I highly recommend Mel’s Marine Service! Curtis Palmer Roseburg, Oregon

On Friday I bought a short shaft motor for my John boat. When I got at home the shaft was just a little too short. I called Mel's the following Monday to ask about returning the motor in unused condition. 2 phone calls and several hours later they called to say no. Buyer beware. Mel's WILL NOT work with you. Once they have your money they could care less.

I had and issue with my boat motor this morning it wouldn't start. I took it into Mel's. Tony and Bud diagnosed the problem. And got me on my way quickly. Great customer service.

In need of an equivilant to a Haynes or chitons manual for a 1987 Bayliner 2.3L Ford/OMC Cobra do you see anything like this. Also where to take an exhaust manifold to have 2 bolts drilled out and retapped
If you stick with clear gas you'll have a lot less problems I have had power boats for 35 years
