Hello! Yes you can hike this trail. the fire was on the other side of Griffith Park. Always when hiking near a recent fire please co er your nose and mouth. Also wear eye protection. Ash can build up in your nose or airways and make even the most seasoned hiker ill. Never hike alone and inform others where you will be if you do decide to go solo. Best of luck!

Yes it is accessible, though keep in mind the fires were nearby. Therefore, wind we have been experiencing maybe kicking up ashes. So would suggest covering your face to prevent any lung damage or clogging of the capillaries. Also the reason I would cover my face knowing with heat 🌡drinking water is necessary. The ashes or any fine dust turns into mud if there is a build up of material... have fun Lauren and any one coming across this posted message. Hopefully it is informative enough ...it is July 12, 2018 🏃‍♀️Happy trails to you🎤🎼 😎👌
