this building is iconic and will always be the signature memory of L A airport. I was lucky enough to visit it when it was a space themed restaurant and I was a transit passenger with time to get there, enjoy a meal and get my next flight. The views were great, but the Rhino Chaser beer really good - I never had it again despite looking. Come on LAX, make this the memory of the site for others, don't just deny your heritage.

Thank you city officials for a wonderfull facility for our men and woman in the military and their family members!!!!!! I have been waiting for the grand opening day and i am exited to know its officially open :) This is a fine example of city officials taking the initiative to place the bob hope uso facility on a great location

Many people would just think this is a cool looking structure, but it has so much history behind it! In addition to all those computer gamers playing GTA this is another landmark to take a picture of.

I've seen pictures of the Theme building being lit by colourful light. Is this still being done nightly or was that just a one-off thing?

That's done nightly it's a nice splash of color at that airport

How do you get there and back if you only have a couple of hours between flights? Is it in a convenient place so I can go through security again and then catch my flight? Thank you.

Yes you go to the ground floor of your terminal building, walk towards the parking structure, and walk towards the theme building. It used to have elevators to the top but I think they're closed now

What kind of food is served?

The Encounter Restaurant is closed and has been closed for the past two and a half years... There are restaurants outside airport terminals , where there is a Denny's, I believe there is a Burger King you might want to look around the Westchester area on Sepulveda, to see what they have in the neighborhood... check Google Maps, which can help you locate what's in the neighborhood... Denny's is near the Sheraton and Airport Hilton Hotel... there are also many food options inside all the terminals... There is Peet's Coffee, and many sandwich and stir fry Asian restaurants, there's a place called "Skewers" in one of the terminals... most of these restaurants are highlighted and listed on Google Maps... there's many options for everybody's tastes.... I remember a few years back there was a great Mexican restaurant nearby in Westchester on Sepulveda...

do you still have a violinist ?

When they were open it was Friday to Sunday... But I hadn't heard of them being open in months. If you are there the infor desk will point you in the right direction.
