Received call saying my SS number had been suspended due to suspicious activity. I was told to press 1 to find out about the case. Where can I report this incoming phone number?

YOU CALL THE FTC AND REPORT THE PHONE NUMBER AS IMPERSONATING THE SSA

What a country! Thank you for trying to help but doubt if this solves the problem.

We’ve received reports of people getting calls telling them there is a problem with their social security number being used and that the victim must be responsible for getting the number secured by purchasing gift cards and providing the pin numbers over the phone. . If you are aware that the call is a scam, please report the activity to the Attorney General’s Consumer Hotline, 1-877-877-9392 or www.ic3.gov. The incoming number is likely not the real number they are calling from, but a spoof. Many of these scam calls originate from outside the U.S.
