It is real gold flecks from Alaska. It is catch and release only. You can pan for it, but have to put it back after. They said what I got in my pan was worth about $10. They would have to raise the prices a lot if they let people keep it.
Yes it was a active gold mine in the 1870 till up till 1970s now its private owned and for a fee they take you through couple levels of the mine great tour and history
