I purchased a 2018 tacoma sr5 last week. The truck has fine "cuts" or lines cut into the sheet metal in front of the rear wheels on both sides in a pattern.. Is this "normal", as our salesman said ? Thank you. Bob

Easy answer, ... Next time you take the truck in for the complementary oil change, look at one they have on display in the showroom. If it is on that truck then it is normal. I would say that it is a textured and specially treated area to protect the metal from small rock and road debris damage.
