We recently bought a used 2019 Honda Pilot. The sales rep, Biff, was very much a straight shooter. I told him I didn’t want to spend much time at the dealership and wasn’t interested in add-ons when meeting with the finance dept. I knew what I wanted and he had me in and out in two hours, including two test drives. He was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The finance guy was also great and had all of the paperwork ready.

I had the pleasure of working with Biff to purchase my 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback. He was excellent in providing updates on the status of my vehicle. As someone who also works in the retail space, I realized that Scott is not a salesperson but someone who just wants a transaction done. Seemed nice when I went to purchase a new vehicle in transit (4-6 weeks out), to give them my business and also assured me that the deposit was fully refundable (since I hadn’t seen nor test driven the car). I changed my mind (after having seen and tested it elsewhere) because I did not like the car, would not be happy owning it and believed it was not worth the price I would be paying for it to me (more than MSRP, as is usual with dealerships nowadays and also higher doc fee). When I tried to get my deposit back, at first he did not return my call (after saying he would at a less busier time) and when I called again couple of days later, he was very rude and disrespectful. He claimed that he “could’ve sold the car 10 times over” and etc. all the while keeping in mind that this car still has not reached the dealership and wouldn’t be for another “1-2 weeks.” It’s funny, you’d think that informing him my decision sooner rather than 2 weeks later at delivery date would be better received but I guess he was going to be an a*****e either way since I’m not giving him my business. I was shook because if I’m spending thousands of dollars you’d at least expect to be treated with respect. I do like the cars and bikes Honda makes but I know I will definitely not be returning to this dealership. I would not recommend this place to a friend. Your typical greedy sales person that will hate you the moment you don’t want to give them money (fastest way to lose a client forever). He also prematurely assumed that he had sold me the car when in reality he hadn’t. He was presumptuous to think that this sale was confirmed. He didn’t have to say anything at all and could’ve been more professional about the refund process and then continue to “sell this car 10 times over.” I wanted to give him a 0, but I can’t, so I give him a 1.

It is a "voluntary warranty". It literally means nothing. It is to get you in for oil changes to upsell you things and try to get you to buy a new one there.

Paul I am told you absolutely can,although and I will not tell u 8ve bought dozens of vehicles over the years. I will tell you I did buy a veh.from Boch Honda ( in person ). I was able to physical meet and talk to one of 2 on duty ( I think ) this was over an issue with his salesman, whom didn't want to talk to manager over issue at hand. As the 3 of us walked n talked ( manager never gave me handshake nor business card, he did offer to remember problem at hand which was never done nor like ur self was I able to reach " the short Spanish man " is how I had to ask front desk for this particular sales manager to find out why, if,when he could fix my issue. Never did speak to any sales manager. God forbid you may ND JT, JP the (Finance Manager) again never really new which " letters" he went by. After calling and being transferred to this Finance Mangers voice mail n getting no return call I relied this JT,JP had yet to change his voice mail over from last man in this poition.Don't do it.
I did not bought my car at Honda. I can't help with info and have no idea why Google are sending me your question. My suggestion for you would be, take your car to the dealer, they are the experts.
