Generally that is hard to do because the truck goes out with all of the packages. Sometimes you can catch them when they come back to the station before they close and maybe be able to receive the package then. Otherwise as said above you would have to mark on a slip or online to tell them to hold it.
No, after the scheduled that and that's if you ask for it to be held, if not they will try 3 times I beloeve
