I had gone to Oaktree Law to handle my Chapter 13 casa, as I was losing my house and my bills were becoming over due, as I had suffered an injury and was unable to work. I met with Julie Villalobos, who at the time I didn’t realize she was the owner, and she was very thorough in explaining the procedure, next steps and timeline. I hired Oaktree Law, and everything has gone smoothly, after 4 years after filing, anytime I call the office her team of paralegals, and attorneys are always professional and willing to help, I highly recommend Oaktree law.

From July 2019 to current, Julie and her team have been hands on and have produced nothing short of outstanding results!! They filed all the paperwork, answered any questions I had about our case, lenders, and the process, and what to expect. I was told reach out and whenever I did, they were ALWAYS there with a response. That made things easy. Our BK was recently discharged and they were there to handle the discharge paperwork. When they say they are here for you, they mean it !! Thanks Oaktree Law

This office deserves 6 stars! They were prompt, responsive, helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. I was living outside of the United States during the pandemic lockdowns and I couldn't have done this without them. Even an ocean away they helped me immensely, and they really guided me through everything to make it more manageable and understandable. I highly recommend this office to anyone who is considering this difficult decision. Don't do it alone! There's many ways to fix our problems, but I wouldnt change my decision to hire them.

Julie and her staff are very friendly and professional- i contacted them to file chapter 7 and they made the filing very easy. From day 1 i trusted them and felt comfortable filing through them. Julie has always been responsive when i had a question- her and her staff took care of everything for the filing even the little details- it was stressful time but they took the stress away from me when they filed timely and seamlessly. They addressed lawsuit intent letters by creditors. Lastly their price id very reasonable for what they do and the good reputation they have- i will certainly refer them to friends and family.

If you have a judgment they have to renew that judgement every 10 years This is a very easy process for the creditor and they almost always renew the judgement. We can help you to get the entire judgment wiped out.

Must I pay a retainer to an attorney before filing for bankruptcy?

Richard Hernandez | Aug 20, 2018
Mark Hoffman | Aug 20, 2018

I'm not sure what you're asking here you do not have to retain an attorney to file for bankruptcy there is nothing under the law that you cannot technically do yourself. If you choose to retain an attorney to help you with the filing of a bankruptcy then generally the attorney has to be paid in full prior to the filing of the petition because bankruptcy discharges debt including the debt that you might owe to your attorney.

When applying for bankruptcy, must I pay attorney fees

Richard Hernandez | Aug 20, 2018
OakTree Law Office | Aug 20, 2019

You are not required to hire an attorney to file a bankruptcy but there are many ways a bankruptcy can go wrong. It makes sense to at least consult with an attorney to make sure you are not accidentally doing yourself harm. Please feel free to calls us and we will go over your options.

I have inherited over 300,000.00 in medical debt when my wife passed away. They offered to settle for 50,000.00. Should I take it?

Nancy Cash | Aug 20, 2018

I think that's a deal I would take. It's a lot of debt they reduced, and if there is a manageable payment plan, then I would do it.
