When a loved one is brought to the emergency room from a ambulance are the contacts (s) listed notified on the phone

My loved one was in a car accident last night.I was notified on whatsapp on my phone

It depends on the situation. Staff prefer to let patient call their own emergency contacts, but if they are unable to (i.e. mentally altered or unconscious) a nurse would likely call on their behalf. Note that there are instances where family might not be notified, such as patient requested to be confidential, there was cause for concern for the patients safety, or the visit was related to a reproductive, mental, or drug abuse problem.
