Do I register a new vehicle under my name first before bringing it to DEQ center?

I Was trying to register a truck I just recently bought from a private party and was told to go to DEQ first.

New or Used, it would be the prudent thing too do. "Better safe than sorry"

If you just bought it from the dealership as a new vehicle, yes

Go to DEQ before registration.
