I agree with the first answer that this trail has a lot of sun. There is one area at the begging where you could sit, but then there are not benches that I can remember.
If you're concerned about shade on this Trail I would probably suggest going somewhere else. In my opinion the majority of it is in the Sun. It's a great open area, great for bird watching or a quick walk.
Quite a bit of the trail has shade. There are only a few benches that we saw near the beginning of the trail. A lot of people were sitting on the wider bridges to eat snacks and watch the birds.
