What to do about a loving cat that loves to snuggle then this last year she stalks me & suddenly she attacks, either bites/scratches me. I don't want to put her down, tired of the attack and run, all I can do is tell her "Bad Girl" and not snuggle.

Cats are NOT fans of change. They like their environment, habits, etc to stay routine. What's changed for her? Because it doesnt sound like a kitten who wasnt taught to play nicely, it sounds like a stress or anxiety behavior change. First step is finding that change and eliminating that if you can adjusting it if you can't second is to get stress relief diffuser, calming stuff.

Maybe your cat's bored. Interactive toys are fun for them and gives them exercise as well. It entertains both of you and can be another way of bonding together. Also when your cat obeys your command, give him/her a treat as a reward. If possible watch My Cat From Hell. I have a VERY ALPHA girl & learned A LOT about cat behavior and how to remedy cat problems. The guy Jackson is all knowledgeable when it comes to cats!!!

Well sounds like she's made a game of it. Just saying bad girl isn't enough. Spray bottle with water to the face when she attacks and sternly say no. Or light smack on the nose saying no. She thinks she's the boss. You need to take back control. Also bring her back to friends before ending her life.

Thanks for your reply. There have been no changes. I have had her about 3 1/2 yrs, got her from Friends of Felines when she was about 3ish. I seem to be the only on to get attacked. Then at night she snuggles on top of me to sleep? She loves to be on my collarbone, lap or hips. I allow it 99% of the time? There doesn't seem to be anything to cause it, she has several toys that is played with. I am just usually just setting watching TV? I am at a loss. I don't want to rehome her incase there is a problem, plus other than the attacks she is calming, other than I am becoming afraid of her, which isn't good. I am on limited income, so can't pursue a lot of research on her.
