I had a terrible experience with Salem Clinic. Having a primarily doctor (Dr. Bastola) that I saw for my 6 month well check up on a regularly basis (March. 2019). Of course as a women, other appointments needed to be done with other specialist. Last May 2019 I need to refill my Blood Pressure Medicine but my doctor would not refill. My next appointment was not due until September. My pharmacy repeatedly requested for refill but doctor still would not refill. I went over a month without my blood pressure medication. As the weeks and days went by my blood pressure was going up sky high. (In the high 100’s on both...I ended up in the ER where that doctor did not understand why my doctor did not refill. Well Salem Clinic did not want to refill my prescription due to a balance I owed and wanted me to pay and make an appointment before I could get my medication. I ended up going to the ER in July. But the my doctor (Bastola) refilled the next day after my ER visit. Why did he not just refill....now I have a $500 bill from the ER. Just so I could get medication and to help lower my blood pressure. What if I would had a heart attack or stroke! A patients health/life should be more important than a lousy $40.

I've been a patient at this clinic for several years and have watched their customer service go steadily down hill. Dr. Garber has been my primary doctor, and i love her, but she is always booked out ridiculous amounts of time, so I generally have to settle for her NP, Barbara Foulke. I've had numerous less than pleasant visits with Barbara and honestly can't believe she is still employed. She's remarkably rude and her ineptitude when it comes to filling out documents, such as HR paperwork, is unbelievable. Her lack of professionalism has discouraged me from recommending this clinic to anyone. As much as I like my primary doctor, I will be switching so that I won't have the misfortune of dealing with Barbara again. Their receptionists also leave much to be desired. Often they have also been rude and less than accommodating. The hold times are ridiculous and when they do finally answer, you're lucky if they don't hang up on you when they are attempting to transfer you or put you on hold. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of options in the area.
