I remember this retreat house with special care, I remember the Jesuits companionig us, seekers, holding space for us in silence just waiting for the spirit to act. They have four chapels, an amazing library, mass with the Jesuits, big ground to wonder while in discernment.

The Campion Renewal Center is a retreat venue operated by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). I spent almost five weeks at the center taking part in their 30 day retreat program. The Renewal Center occupies one wing of the large five floor building which began life as Weston College; the Jesuit health center occupies the other, looking after the sick and retired members of the community. Mass is celebrated twice daily, at 6:30 and 10am, usually in the Our Lady of Montserrat community chapel, but on Sundays in the beautiful Holy Spirit Chapel. Meals are served in the common cafeteria, shared with the Jesuit community. The food is plentiful, tasty and fresh. There is a good variety on offer, and meals vary over a four week cycle. Rooms are very simple with single beds, basic furnishings and common bathrooms on each level. Cleaning staff are very attentive and thorough. There are also two prayer rooms in the retreat wing with the Blessed Sacrament available. The grounds are spacious but not extensive, but the property adjoins several natural reserves and also land owned by the Town of Weston. The trail network through these mostly forest areas is very large and provides good variety and options - although the scenery is much the same on each track! The Jesuit community is very welcoming and I knew that I was in very safe and holy hands with my appointed spiritual director. Many different groups use the center, but it still manages to maintain a basic spirit of silence and prayer.

Retreats are grounded in Jesuit spirituality. Grounds are beautiful and the food is exceptional.

Because of Covid19, Mass for now is not open to the public. This is a rest home with strict protocols.

Are the trails OK for biking? Hills or mostly flat?

You can mountain bike on the trails. About 1 mile from the center is a rails to trails bike path. That trail goes forever. Have fun. I also recommend Waltham for ice cream after your ride. Crissy's ice cream is awesome.

Does the Campion Center offer days of Reflection / Recollection for small groups. It would probably be a small group on a Saturday / Sunday and we would be interested in a spiritual talk, food service, Confession and Mass. Thank you
