There are a lot of roads that start out gravel and start thinning out to more of an off-road adventure. You just have to drive up main lines and start taking the side roads to see what happens in my experience. Drove my jeep through some messes up there a few times.
Im not sure if there is mud and such, if thats what you mean. Im pretty sure there is no off roads that people use. It's all gravel roads which would be better if people actually drove slow on them.
There are a few Trails up there. But they're all made by the average man now we're not talking about the landowner the Capitol State Forest owner or owners we're talking about like you and I going out and just finding a few trails. With that being said there are several good trails out and about between Capitol State Forest and its surrounding forests
