Hi Lainey, in 2017, Kaiser Permanente acquired Group Health Cooperative and its subsidiaries, which have been caring for members in Washington since 1947. Now Kaiser Permanente Washington, we serve more than 710,170 members and support the health of communities in Northwest Washington, Central Washington, Eastern Washington, the Coastal and Olympic region, and Puget Sound.
They were affiliated until last year. Now Group Health is gone after being absorbed into Kaiser Permanente. We belonged to Group Health until we moved to CA in 1970 when we joined Kaiser. We joined Group Health when we retired back to Seattle and became Kaiser members when the purchase was completed last year.
As of February 2017 they are the same entity as Kaiser bought Group Health.
