Appointments are given only for the next 14 days. Check online starting at midnight and keep on refreshing. They open anywhere within a couple of minutes for the next available day... and they are taken within seconds. Good luck.
Due to recent covid restrictions and protocols, you have to call to schedule an appointment to go in. Once you've met all the necessary requirement you will be scheduled to come in with your passport application. My passport was issued on the same day but I did the emergency application. If yours isn't an emergency, you can submit at a local post office that meet the requirements to accept passport applications.
