The beach gets closer due to bad water quality every August. Not sure how often they test or how long the water quality is bad before they close the beach. Personally I would stay out of the water for at least all of August

Definitely. It came up to the waist of most of my kiddos ages 5-10 and with the lifejackets they loan for free all my kids were able to enjoy the lake. The water is pretty clear and there's little non-lake related debris.
